Getting the most out of your candles involves both prolonging their life and enhancing your experience while using them. Here are some tips to help you achieve that:
- Extended Burn Time:
During the first burn, allow the wax melt pool to reach the glass edge before blowing out. This should take around 3 hours. This helps establish a "memory" and prevents future tunneling. After your first 3-hour burn, we recommend burning for around 2-4 hours per session.
- Wick Maintenance:
Wick maintenance is key for perfect burning so be sure to trim the wick to between 5 and 6mm before each burn. This ensures a cleaner and more controlled flame, reducing the likelihood of tunneling and soot. If your candle has already tunneled, here's a helpful tip:
- Use a Hair Dryer:
Gently melt the wax around the edges of the tunnel with a hair dryer. This will encourage the wax to pool evenly and prevent further tunneling. Be cautious not to overheat the wax; a low or medium setting should suffice.
*Always burn candles within sight, on a stable surface, away from flammable objects, children, and pets.
Warning:
Position the candle on a heatproof mat or surface to avoid the heat causing damage or marks to any furniture. Make sure you stop burning your candle when 10mm of wax remains at the bottom, keeping an eye, when the wax is low. Burning your candle all the way to the bottom can result in your jar becoming dangerously hot and at risk of shattering.
We hope these tips help you enjoy your candles to the fullest! If you have any questions or need a bit more guidance, don't hesitate to reach out. Here's to many cosy, fragrant moments ahead. Happy burning!
